Who we are

Information we collect
Information you provide: Email address (newsletter and contact form), name (contact form), ZIP code (comparison tools), and message content (contact form).
Information collected automatically: Pages visited and time spent (Google Analytics), device type and browser, approximate city-level location derived from your IP address, and referral source — how you arrived at our site.
We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account information, or health information of any kind.
How we use your information
- To send you the newsletter you subscribed to — you can unsubscribe at any time
- To respond to contact form messages
- To improve our content using aggregate analytics data
- To show relevant insurance comparison options via partner links
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information for automated insurance-related profiling.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these circumstances:
- Email service providers: Process email addresses on our behalf under a data processing agreement
- Analytics providers: Google Analytics processes anonymised traffic data. You can opt out via Google’s opt-out browser add-on
- Affiliate partners: When you click through to an insurer’s site, their privacy policy governs any information you provide them. We do not share your data before you click their link
- Legal compliance: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority

Essential cookies — required for the site to function. Cannot be disabled.
Analytics cookies — Google Analytics cookies. Can be disabled via your browser settings or Google’s opt-out tool.
Affiliate tracking cookies — set by partner companies when you click an affiliate link. Governed by the partner’s own cookie policy.
Your rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of your data (we do not sell data, but this right exists regardless). Data retention
Email addresses are retained for as long as you remain subscribed. After unsubscribing, your address is removed within 10 business days. Contact form messages are retained for 12 months. Analytics data is retained per Google’s standard data retention settings.
Children’s privacy
PolicyAmericana is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe we have done so inadvertently, contact us immediately at privacy@policyamericana.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
